About - Santa
How a nice Jewish boy grew up to be a photographer and play Santa
I grew up surrounded by many different art worlds. My dad ran an advertising agency and my mom pursued painting and photography. Their friends were artists of all sorts, famous and infamous.
Our house was in fact a gallery that displayed a wide variety of fine art and advertising work. From an early age, it all filtered into my imagination. There was no other path for me (well, except for maybe an astronaut, but that's another story.)
Studying filmmaking at NYU exposed me to the importance of story and character, as well as all of the technical magic that came from a Bell and Howell Filmo and an upright Moviola.
It also taught me the importance of collaboration and working with visionary people that made me look good (even with a white beard and a red hat.)
So, if you want to make me look better, or work together to make something great, give me a call.
A long-time (like, a real long time) New Yorker, I live in Greenpoint with my wife, Diana and our son, Decker.
